Plastic waste in the sea set to outweigh fish by 2050

According to The Guardian a million plastic bottles are purchased every minute across the world. When you consider that on average one plastic bottle will take approximately 450 years to fully degrade, that's a lot of plastic waste!

What about recycling? Well, "fewer than half of the bottles bought in 2016 were collected for recycling and just 7% of those collected were turned into new bottles" (source). Sadly most plastic bottles that are produced end up in landfills or our oceans.

On that note, with plastic waste in the sea set to outweigh fish by 2050, I think it's time to change how we do things.
